Energy Firm E.On Says Price Rise Looks Increasingly Likely

The last of the big six energy companies that is yet to increase energy prices, E.on, has said that it is "increasingly likely" that they will have to raise their energy prices.

E.On chief executive, Tony Cocker, has said: "Whilst we will not comment on speculation, it is fair to say that we are being put in a position where it is increasingly likely that we will need to pass on some of these increases in costs to our customers."

In the past few weeks, five of the big six energy companies have already announced price rises, blaming the government's social and environmental policies and distribution costs for some of the increases. (Source: BBC News)
