E.on Buys Energy Management And Efficiency Firm Matrix

E.on has bought the Manchester based energy management and efficiency firm Matrix in a deal worth a reported £85 million as it explores ways to offer business customers a new way of improving energy efficiency.

Founded in 2003, Matrix says it can help reduce a firm's energy use by up to 40% through its system which can control energy use remotely via its centre in Glasgow. This means it can turn off air-con, lights and other such equipment at the drop of a hat. This comes after increased pressure from the government to meet energy efficiency standards.
